Start a New Toastmasters Club
The necessary steps to starting a new club are:
- Identify possibilities for forming a new club. These can be companies, organizations or geographical areas.
- Begin prospecting the organizations and areas. Send letters and/or mailers to the prospects. For some example letters to organizations, see the below downloadable file.
- Set up a meeting with an interested prospect.
- To the meeting bring materials, information and/or video/DVD. For some examples of what to bring, see the below downloadable file.
- Get a commitment for putting on a Demo Meeting
- Arrange to put on a Demo Meeting
- Contact the appropriate district officers
- Arrange for Club Sponsors and Club Mentors
- Put on the Demo Meeting
- Arrange for an Organizational Meeting to be held within two weeks of the demo meeting
- Put on the Organizational Meeting. Get the information needed:
- Club Name
- Meeting Place, Frequency, Day, Time
- Club Officers
- Charter Members
- Other items needed for the club bylaws
- Complete the charter paperwork and send it to World Headquarters
