The Area within the District
Toastmasters Districts are divided into Divisions. Divisions are divided into Areas.
Each Area has an Area Governor. The Area Governor is responsible for assuring that
the Clubs reach their goals. Each Area Governor should be striving to have a
Distinguished Area. Distinguised Areas helps a District become a Distinguished District.
Contests: Areas have semi-annual contests. The contestants are the winners of the
Club contests. The winners of the Area contest compete in the Division contests.
Area Council: An Area Governor should have a quarterly Area Council meeting.
The Area Council members are the top three club officers, the Assistant Area Governor, and
the Area Governor. These meetings have one main focus: finding ways to help the Area clubs
meet their needs.
