Kim Myers
Lt.Gov Education and Training

Education and Training of Toastmasters members is the foundation of Toastmasters.   Meeting the goals of each Toastmaster member is the goal of the district this year.   Members join Toastmasters primarily for improvement of their speaking and communication skills, however, they rapidly find out that leadership is the second foundation.  This year, the district will award each member who attains a shared leadership or education goal with 2 additional manuals.  However, the member MUST share that goal with the Lt. Governor - Educaition & Training along with the two manuals the member would like.   The award MUST be earned by June 30, 2013 - the end of our Toastmaster year.  We would be pleased to send you those manuals!

Additionally, we realize that each member joins Toastmasters for different reasons.  For some it is getting over the fear of speaking, for some it is to compete, for others leadership is the main factor.  Each club should be assigning mentors to each member and work with them to help them achieve their goal.  As a district, we need to recognize those achievements.   My challenge to each member this year is to share their goals, with me, with their mentor, and with an accountabiliity partner.  Goals that are shared are more likely to be met.

Our clubs need to recognize differences and work to meet their members goals - talk them over, recognize them, and challenge them.   Set goals for your clubs as well to be Distinguished or Better.  When members achieve their goals, clubs follow.

My goal is to help you, having great Toastmaster Leadership Institutes that help EVERY member of the district as well as training our current and future officers.  Having fun, exciting, educational conferences and running great contests is another goal. As a trio our goal is to see each member and club succeed and grow
